Rashay Montrale Douglas Jr. passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022. He was a talented basketball player, musician, and a beloved father, son, brother, grandson, and friend.
Rashay was born on July 22, 1997, to Rashay Douglas Sr. and Valerie Easley (Trice). He attended The Ohio State University and worked as a Supervisor at the United Parcel Service (UPS).
As an ambitious young student athlete, Rashay played basketball in Bahrain, Italy, Dubi, Germany, Oman, Qutar. Rashay went on to play basketball in college for two amazing years. His basketball career was cut short due to an unfortunate knee injury.
Rashay’s love for playing basketball was soon replaced with his passion for music. He began his music career in 2018. In pursuit of his dream Rashay wrote and recorded several songs.
In 2019 Rashay welcomed his son Rashay Douglas III, who he loved dearly. In addition to Rashay III, Rashay is survived by his father and mother, Rashay Douglas Sr. and Valerie Easley (Trice); his brothers Malachi Easley, Matthew Easley and Justin Douglas; his grandparents Sherry and Ricky Cooper, Arlena Trice, and Ricky Birdsong; special cousins Kayla Dunning and Courtney Archer; and an abundance of family and friends. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Donnie Russell.
Rashay’s celebration of life will be held at Grace Apostolic Church, 1170 Lancaster Ave. Reynoldsburg, Ohio on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at 11:00am. A visitation before the service will begin at 10:00am.
