Richard (Dickie) Boston went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. He was born to the late Oscar B. Roney and Mae Boston Chandler, December 20, 1949 in Beckley, West Virginia. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Linda and daughter Charlotte Carlisle; sisters June (Lizzy) Williams, Delia Mae Black; brothers Clarence Boston, Jerry Boston, Etchol (Pete) Chandler, Jr.; stepchildren Cherry Sydnor and Keith (Ida) Sydnor; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and Christian friends.
He was preceded in death by his nephew Timothy S. Williams, brother Calab P. Boston, stepsister Tory (Lynnie Bug) Chandler, stepfather Etchol Chandler, Sr., and brothers-in-laws Eugene Williams and Thomas (Payton) Black.
Richard worked at Burgress Meat Factory, West Columbus; most recently employed at Besa Lighting, Blacklick, Ohio and was the Concierge Custodian for Faith Ministries Church.
Richard attended Stratton High School, Beckley, West Virginia and varies other trade schools in Ohio. Richard was a Member and Mentor for Kairos Prison Ministry in Central Ohio. He was a member of Faith Ministries Church where he served on several ministries including, the “Men of Faith” male choir, the “G” Men Chorus and “Men in Black” Choir. Richard’s favorite phrase was “You coming to church Sunday”. He would pick you up, take you out to eat after church, and take you home, as long as you came to church with him. He was always committed to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ to promote spiritual unity.
Richard loved his wife and family.
