Richard Murphy

Richard Deshon Murphy was born October 13, 2005 in Columbus, Ohio to Theresa Murphy and Richard Dawkins. Ricky, as we affectionately called him departed this life on May 12, 2025.

Ricky attended Columbus public schools.  Finishing his educational journey at West High School. Ricky was very athletic he played little league football for the Columbus Outlaws and LGY Rockets, where he dominated defensive end and cornerback. He also had a strong love for basketball, another sport in which he was an all star. Ricky loved his family, friends, significant other and life. 

Ricky is survived by and left to cherish his memories; his parents Theresa Murphy and Richard Dawkins. His grandparents, Wendy Murphy, Alan Frazier, Thomas Shockley, Yvette Dawkins, and Richard Groce. Siblings Tyree Murphy, Nia Thompson, Rickey, Haajirah, Gian, Mylin, and L'yrick Dawkins. And longtime girlfriend Zyara Gates. As well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends.

Ricky was proceeded in death by his brother, Raheem Dawkins, stepfather Garrett Thompson, and nephew Tyree Murphy Jr.
