Mr. Richard B. Smith, Sr., 71, departed this life on July 12, 2021, at Mount Carmel East Hospital. Richard was born on April 6, 1950, in Columbus, Ohio, to Lawrence and Parmalee Smith, Sr.
Richard graduated from West High School in Columbus, Ohio. He worked for the State of Ohio, Brown Steel, and Columbus City Schools.
Richard was preceded in death by his father and mother, Lawrence Sr., and Parmalee, and brother, William “Billy” Smith.
Richard leaves to cherish his memories: his brother, Lawrence Jr.; sister, Pamela Ownes, both of Columbus, Ohio; two children from his previous marriage to Louise Smith, son, Richard B. Smith, Jr. (Sunny); daughter, Arleta Smith (DJ), of Columbus, Ohio; ten grandchildren, Marquis, RJ, Amir, Charnia, Daontez, Aunique and Anaya, Demetrius, and another Anaya; great-grandson, Demetrius Jr.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Richard will truly be missed by all who loved him.
