Roosevelt “Dust” “Rosie” Tucker was born in West Pointe, Georgia, on December 12, 1939, to the union of Susie Hodge Tucker and Nelson Tucker. Roosevelt was full of life and didn’t mind traveling to new places. Roosevelt made his way to Columbus, Ohio, with his family and met his wife, Ada Tucker. God blessed Roosevelt with eighty-five years of life and sadly, he has entered into eternal rest after a long-term illness on Thursday, January 30, 2025. “Rosie” was always the jokester and the life of the party whenever he was around. He ensured everyone laughed or smiled whenever you came in contact with him. He was a family man; there was nothing he wouldn’t sacrifice for his family. If Rosie gave you his word, you can count on him. Roosevelt was preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life, Ada Tucker; and thirteen of his siblings, sisters, Louella Hodnett and Mae Fannie Wilson, and brothers, Abraham, Ernest, Willie, Robert, Nelson, Jr., Charlie, John, William, Eddie Bee, George, and Arthur Tucker, and special nephew, Willie “Tuck” Tucker.
Celebrating his life and precious memories are: his children, Rosalyn Outen, Roosevelt Tucker, Rotisha Roebuck, Roshawn Roebuck, Eugene McCurdy, Nita and Tina, Timothia (Greg) Holley, and Grace Smith; his favorite granddaughter, Shae McDuffie; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, James (Betty) Tucker of Columbus, OH; sisters-in-law, Rebecca Tucker of Gary, IN, and Olevia Tucker Matthews of Columbus, OH; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
