Roshad Broadus Obituary

Roshad Ronte Broadus (Cookster; Sha-Shad), son of God and of Ronald and Joy Broadus. He was born on March 21, 1994. A brother to Ronald, Ricardo, Rolando, Ronica, Roshanna, Romeo, Shanteryl, Michael and Shaniqua. Like a brother to cousins Kip and Joy. To all of us he is the baby boy. He was not much older than our oldest nephew but an uncle to so many nephews and nieces. He is also a nephew, a cousin a significant other and a friend. He reached out as a father figure to little Roshad and was proud of him. He was dedicated to his girlfriend Marissa Ford and was a bonus dad “Tarzan” they called him to her two daughters Autumn and Tamara. He was proud of their craft skills and always wanted them to stay focused so their talents take them far.

*The Word of GOD reads Prov. 22:6 Train a child in the way that they should go and when they get old they won’t depart from it. This was urged by my Mother and Grandma Bunny mostly and taught with urgency and compassion at our home church by our Unc. Keith growing up. My moms words “Don’t forget your Prayers” 1 Thes 5:17 he repeated at the end of conversations. And my dad’s expressing “My people parish for a lack of knowledge” Hosea 4:6 resonated with him deeply.

He was often hard headed and we can say we all have been in some way yet he was adamant about getting things right. If he failed at something he would do it again and again until it was satisfactory to him. Tinkering with things became a hobby since his younger years. In recent years he mimicked his earthen hero’s (dad and brothers) and began working on cars. “It’s therapeutic” he said. He even got a job at an auto part store and offered his family discount to everybody!!! “You shall know them by their love” John 13:34 and he affected all of us. He was a helper and I’m sure it would only take 2 seconds to think of a time where he has jumped in to help with something even before you could ask. He was really proud of his family. There were so many phone calls asking about family history wanting to know who is who and "How are they related again?" But his most recent phone call was in reference to The Lord as he said “I believe in the same JESUS you believe in!” and “I want to visit the land (of the Bible) and I just want to know more "Isaiah 55:6-7.

The Lord answered our Prayers when we asked that Roshad have life. He just responded with eternally. His time on earth was brief but his impact was effective. His life should encourage you to do more for others.

Phillip 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
