S T King the son of the late Mercer King and Rosebud Gardner King was born February 15, 1934 in Buena Vista, Georgia and passed away at his home October 16, 2020. Upon the family moving to Columbus, Georgia. He accepted Christ and joined the New Bethel AME Church. S T was employed at the Bibb Textile Corporation and the Post Exchange at the Fort Benning, Georgia Army Base. When moving to Columbus, Ohio he was employed at The Ohio Malleable Iron Company as an Iron Inspector for 22 years. After the Malleable closed he was employed at The Ohio State University in the Biological Sciences Department as a Maintenance Engineer. He retired in 1997.
S T loved to fish and hunt. He was an avid fisherman. He fished in Lake Erie for Walleye, Port Clinton for White Bass, Michigan for Salmon and New Jersey for Bluefish, Hoover Dam and Alum Creek for Croppies. He always kept fishing gear in whatever car he was driving.
He loved nature and he and his wife, Hattie would go on picnics or just sit by the water in the evenings. S T also loved playing games with his great niece, Nia. Their favorite was checkers.
S T was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Louise; brother, David and Samuel and sisters, Daisy Myles, Eloise Nesbitt, Susie Berger, Rosa King and Mae Pearl Hollis.
He leaves to cherish his wife of 47 years, Hattie; his sister, Frances Smith and Lovis Greene of Columbus, Georgia; sister-in-law, Louise Dixson; brother-in-law, Donald Rutledge and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
