Friday, May 27, 1994, Sadé Simone Singleton pressed her way into the world. She was very curious to see her new surroundings. Her eyes not completely free, the vernix seal refused to open wide. Sadé let out a scream that alerted the entire world, “I Am Here.” She was ready to begin her new life. Sadé, a bright, loving, and sensitive young lady, was affectionately known as “Simone.” Simone was a proud 2012 graduate of Columbus Afrocentric Early College. She graduated, not only with her high school diploma, but also with two years of college under her belt from Columbus State Community College.
Simone had a great love for children, and having children was on her wish list. God granted that wish on August 9, 2020, with Austin Christopher Dea’Shaun Singleton. Her love for children didn’t stop there; not only did she have Austin, but she still affectionately cared for other children in multiple different childcare settings. She still enjoyed babysitting and spending time with her niece and nephew. Sadé was just a natural-born caretaker who had a special love and relationship with children and senior citizens.
She loved doing TikTok dances with her niece, Alonna, whom she crowned the TikTok princess, as Sadé had already crowned herself the queen. She had lots of fun on Facebook and Instagram, singing and dancing live. Sadé liked cooking, blogging, and putting her culinary dishes on display for social media. She tagged everyone to make sure her expertise was seen!
Simone loved gospel music, and this was the source that moved her soul. As a child she regularly attended church with her grandmother. As a part of the VBS team, she worked diligently in the nursery, and confidently completed all necessary record keeping for the entire session. All this, even before she gave her life to Christ. It was just a matter of time and she made up her mind, was baptized, and never looked back. Sadé Simone Singleton loved God, and you can be sure she is resting in His arms.
Sadé was preceded in death by her grandfather, John Hill; grandmother, Mary Ann Reid; and aunt, Tonya Brown.
She leaves to cherish her memory: son, Austin Singleton; loving mother, Anita Freeman; father, Christopher C. Reid; dad, Stephen Singleton; siblings, Sabrina (Jessica) Holman, Jevon Little, Whitney Darby, Shay Hill, Shawnee Hout, Sir-Blake Singleton, Laila Suarez-Reid, and Sincere Davis; grandmothers, Saundra Hill and Helen Campbell; grandfathers, Clarence Campbell and Michael (Carla) Moore; aunts, Rina Reid, Anitra (Darryl) Lambert, and Felicia Cogar; uncles, Aaron Campbell and Greg Cogar; niece, Alonna Draper; nephew, My’Shaun Hout; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
