Sandra Delores Adams (Pryor) was born September 20, 1939, to the late Willie Byrd and Helen Pryor. She attended South High School and then went to cosmetology school. Sandra also took up karate. She worked for many years as an independent healthcare provider.
On January 17, 1973, Sandra married the love of her life, Willie Adams, her soulmate, who was a chef for a well- known restaurant chain. His well-crafted culinary skills afforded them the opportunity to travel, opening up new restaurants all across the country. Sandra and Willie built their life on love and commitment. Sandra was a devoted, loving wife who supported her husband in his endeavors. Sandra owned several cleaning companies throughout her life. She was truly a woman who had many skills and talents. She loved to teach others how to knit and enjoyed knitting with her loving sister, Stephanie, in her younger years. Sandra was gentle, dedicated, meek, humble, committed, and quiet, but would tell you how she felt with no arguments, no matter
what anyone thought. She spoke few words but loved to share her experiences and advice on marriage and life.
She would say, “Make sure you are compatible or it won’t work.” “Don’t waste your time arguing about something you won’t remember why you started arguing in the first place.” “Clean life, means long life.”
She loved her family and created a mother-and-daughter bond with Terri Brown, who was a caring and loyal neighbor who went out of her way to make sure “Ms. Sandy,” as she called her, was taken care of.
On Monday, April 3, 2023, Sandra Deloris Adams departed this life to be with the Lord. She will forever be in our hearts. Sandra Delores Adams was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Adams, parents, Willie and Helen Byrd, sisters, Stephanie Breckenridge and Joan Cauley, and niece, Roshawnda Louise Cauley.
She leaves to mourn: her loving brothers, Anthony (Patricia) Bryd and Pastor Ronald (Luwana) Byrd, loving sister, Gayle Harris, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
