Shanda Taylor

Shanda Marie Florence Taylor was born in Dayton Ohio to Theodore Florence and Barbara Scott on July 27, 1957. She was raised in Dayton where she graduated in 1975. While she was small in stature (just under 5 foot), she was a big presence at her school and in her community.

While she worked numerous jobs, her first priority was taking care of her family. She would go to great lengths to protect her siblings and friends. She did the same with her children and grandchildren. She was a sister, mother, aunt, and friend to many.

Shanda was outspoken in that she was never afraid to speak her mind and you always knew where you stood with her. As a truly passionate woman, she loved hard, fought hard, and played hard (ask anyone who played her in spades)! In her later years, you could really see her love for her Lord and her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, (Theodore Florence); mother, Barbara Freeman (Benard); brothers, Michael and Devlon Taylor.

Left to cherish her by her love of 50 years: Andrew Jennings; her sisters, Donna Taylor (Anthony), Darla Stirtmire (Tyrone), Mary Milton, Ronnie Vineyard, Renee Jackson; her children, Andta’Juan Jennings (Quanisha), Andrew Jennings III (Amanda), Shalove Jennings, Shadara Jennings, Shakeya Jennings. She also leaves 17 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and friends. She will be missed by many.
