Our beloved father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, Steven N. Smith, was lovingly known by his family and friends as “Porkey.”
Porkey was well-known and loved by many. He was everybody’s Uncle Porkey. He loved fishing, painting, cooking, and being with his family and friends.
He loved taking on projects, they may get done or they may not. But one thing was sure, if you were cold, he would give you the shirt off his back. If you were hungry, he would cook for you. But if you didn’t wash your hands you would get kicked out.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Eugene and Odessa Smith; paternal grandparents, Frank Nathaniel and Virginia F. Smith; maternal grandparents, Otis Palmer and Vinny Sanford; brothers, Melvin Smith and Gerald (Jerry) Smith; uncles, Frank Robert, Joseph, and John Smith; aunt, Amelia Smith Adams; and special cousins, Frankie Smith, Cheryl Smith Dorsey, and Michael Smith (Smitty).
Left to cherish his memory: children, Stephen Nathaniel Smith II, Seville Elaine Black (Tony), Christiana Warner (Brantley); special son, Darnell Garrett; granddaughters, Kylee, Trinity and
MarKayla; grandsons, Zion, Jayden, Nas, Cameron, Caiden, Brantley, Brayden, and Bryson; brother, Robert Cromwell; sisters, Vickijo Smith Ensley and Chellie McClanahan Brown; nieces, Tenisa, Toneya, and Talisha; nephews, Terrell, Jermaine, Jamar, Christopher, Tony, and Robert (Robbie); special cousin, Raleigh Adams; special friends, Sheila Hayes and Shelley Dudgeon; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and special family, Sheila Hayes and Shelley Dudgeon; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and Lexington & Linden Neighborhood family.
