Suellen Austin-Blasingame Obituary

A Time to Be Born

Suellen Austin-Blasingame was born on December 17, 1955, in Columbus, Ohio. From birth, she was lovingly raised by her adoptive parents, Alma Jenkins Green and Thomas Jenkins, who nurtured, guided, and shaped the woman she became.

Later in life, God blessed Suellen with the opportunity to reunite with her biological family, restoring cherished connections and expanding the circle of love that surrounded her throughout her life.

A Time to Live

Suellen graduated from Central High School and was blessed with the birth of her beautiful daughter, Janee “Danielle” Jenkins. She spent 42 years living in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she dedicated her career to serving others through her work with Head Start, Talbert House, and the University of Cincinnati.

Suellen enjoyed playing Pokeno, cooking, and spending quality time with family and friends. She played an instrumental role in helping to raise her niece/goddaughter, Miracle James-Tanks, whom she loved dearly.

In 2023, Suellen relocated back to Columbus, Ohio, where she cherished spending more time with her daughter, siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends. She volunteered with East Columbus Development Corporation, teaching arts and crafts to senior citizens until her health no longer allowed her to continue. Suellen also loved traveling with her close-knit group of friends and was always excited about planning their next adventure together.
