TaQuajah Love Page, affectionately known to family and friends as “Mama” was born January 29, 1994, to Shameka Love Page and Delando “Bug” Smith. She went to meet her heavenly father on September 15, 2024. She is preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Abner “Buster” Carter; uncle Ronnie K. Smith; and cousins, Ninyon Page, Bre'Zjuan Page, Malik Price, De’Aire Craighead, Melvin Courts, Jr., and Sincere Akers.
Mama was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, where she lived life to its fullest every day. She was very loving and caring. She had a smile that glowed and a laugh that would fill up the room. Mama had a heart that had no boundaries. She loved spending time with all her siblings, nephews, godchildren, and the rest of her family making sure to be a part of all their milestones.
Mama graduated from Eastmoor Academy High School and was eager to succeed in life. She quickly joined the workforce and did just that. Meeting and making friends every day in the office. She loved the people she interacted with each day. There was an undeniable bond like no other between her and her mother, her best friend, the “twins” that all would call them. And oh, how she loved her dad, her “Papa Bear!” She was hard working in everything she did, especially in raising her number one pride and joy, her son, and making sure her Ganny was taken care of. Being her mother’s only daughter she was cherished and loved dearly by her brothers Bub, MooMoo and her Dookah. Mama absolutely loved being a big sister to Shaunte and DaiDai and took that role with pride. Her uncles Twin and Nijai were more like Big brothers always there no matter what. Her stylish and lavish ways definitely came from her Auntie. Mama indeed was a Queen in the making being that she was the only girl out of 15 boys between her brothers and cousins.
Mama had her own style that made her stand out in a crowd. She was always the life of the party. Holidays and gatherings would always be fun, full of laughter and smiles when she showed up. During her free time Momma loved to travel and hang out with her "forever” friends, Shondise Smith, Asia Bange, Araya Senior, Brooke Wallace, Keanna Chatman, Alycia Leftwich, JonMiko Willaims, Juan Juan, Emilio Gutierrez, Arkeeta Hopson, Nailah, and Tahirah Jones.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her biggest blessing, her son Tai’Jhere Benton; parents, Shameka Page (Significant other Peary Cooper) and Delando & Latonya Smith; grandmothers, her “Ganny,” Norma “Ruthie” Page and Carolyn Cruze; siblings, Te’Vion “Bub” Page, TajHeim “MooMoo” Page, De’Shaunte and “DaQuan” Taynor, Daiona Smith, and T’Khai “Dookah” Perkins; aunts and uncles, Shamajedah Page (special auntie), Nagui “Twin” Page, Nijai Page, Jermaine Jackson, Tomika Jackson, Tamara Jackson, Max Jackson, Shannon Jackson, Daniel Jackson, Seda Jackson; nephews, Te’Vion (Aunie) Page Jr. and DaQuan (Lil) Taynor, Jr.; Godchildren, Malane Christine, Jr., Jaice McKinnon, and Corri Childs; and a host of great-aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.
The Broken Chain We little knew that day, God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, In death, we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you You did not go alone. For part of us went with you, The day God called you home. You left us beautiful memories, Your love is still our guide And although we cannot see you, You are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, And nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, When tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand that an angel came and called my name, and took me by the hand; The angel said my place was ready in Heaven far above, and that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love. But when I walked through Heaven’s Gates, I felt so much at home, for God looked down, smiled at me and told me “Welcome Home.” So, when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart, for every time you think of me, I’m right there in your heart.
