Talika Donnell Obituary

On January 6, 2023, the Lord called his angel, Talika DonTiá Donnell, also known as “Mookie Pooh,” home.

The Lord presented his angel Talika to her earthly parents, Natalie Donnell and Edward Morehead, on October 15, 1988, weighing only 2 pounds and 81⁄2 ounces. She was definitely a fighter. Her family moved to Columbus, Ohio, when she was 7 years old. As a little girl she attended Huy Elementary School and went on to attend Linden McKinley High School. She later received her diploma from Franklin Heights High School.

Talika fell in love with her life partner, Waynette Clay, also known as Dou. They shared their lives together for more than fifteen years. They became parents to a beautiful baby girl named Kaylee. Talika’s lifelong dream was to become a mother. The Lord finally granted her wish with the help of Kaylee’s biological mother, India Muse. That was one of the happiest times of her life.

As Talika got older, her health started to worsen. She was sick a lot and always in pain. Despite this setback in her life, she still managed to enroll in her second year of college at Columbus State where she was on track to earn her degree in business.

Talika was best known for her hairstyles, blinged-out nails, and hand bags. She loved shopping and always looked like she just walked out of the store. She also always had Kaylee dressed like a beautiful little baby doll, which she was.
Talika was a loving mother, partner, daughter, sister, and aunt. She is going to be well missed.

Talika was preceded in death by her life partner, Waynette Clay; father, Edward Morehead, Jr.; grandparents, Barbara Donnell and John Siler; grandparents, Mary Mitchel, Cotton Mitchel, Eddie McNeil, and Mary McNeil; aunt, Debra Mitchel; and uncle, Alfonso Morehead of Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

She is survived by: her two-year-old daughter, Kaylee; mother, Natalie Donnell; stepmom, Rochelle Sailley “Mama Roe” of Westerville, OH; two sisters, Tiffany Donnell and Marissa Ford; brother, Marquise Henry; godbrother, Gab; two nieces, Temira Ford and Awtuhm Ford; and nephew, Sr. King Williams, all of Columbus, OH; aunts, Ronette AToyebi Mary McNeil of NC, Angela Lawson, Ihona Love, Kim Robins, Mary Brower, and Annie Brower Faye, all of Columbus, OH, Cynthia Corbett of Durham, NC, and Phyllis M. Shields of Winston- Salem, NC; uncles, Ronnie Donnell, Lamont Donnell, Barton Jeffries of NC, James E. Williams of TX, and Nathan Lawson, Kevin Brower, and Keith Love, all of Columbus, OH; and a host of great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, and friends.
