Tami J. Dexterwas born in Parkersburg, West Virginia, on September 11, 1965. Her parents were the late Hertha and Thomas Dexter, Sr., who raised her in Belpre, Ohio, where she graduated from Belpre High School in 1984. Tami moved to Columbus, and worked for the State of Ohio for an astounding 32 years. She was a member of Flintridge Missionary Baptist Church and Whitman Chapel A.M.E. As a community advocate, Tami supported so many causes—fundraising for family members, reunions, less privileged students, and more. When she was involved, an event was sure to be grand! For almost five years, she was assistant general management for the Columbus Fire football team.

Though so many others impacted Tami’s life, while writing this together we could only name just a few. She was grateful, with a full heart, knowing she was so loved by many!
