Tanya Smith Obituary

Tanya Lynne Smith was born January 18th 1968 in Columbus Ohio to her wonderful parents James Moss and Lynne Smith. Tanya received her high school diploma from West High School in Columbus, Ohio class of 1986. She attended Columbus State Community College Dental program and The Ohio State Cosmetology School. Tanya was a wonderful employee and spent many years in Customer Service Field as a Customer Service Representative. She also spent many years as an Independent Provided Nurse. You can use the terms “Jill of All Trades” when describing Tanya. She was a talented and self-driven woman. Tanya conquered anything she put her mind too!

Gone extremely too soon … Our beloved Tanya gained her wings at the age 53, Monday January 17th 2022, at Mount Caramel East Hospital. Preceded in death by her Aunt Diane, Brother Maurice Moss Cousin Tyejuan Locke; Brother-in-law Cedric Ervine and Uncle Ben Smith.

Tanya dedicated her life to helping others! She was beyond resourceful, a walking encyclopedia as most would say. Tanya never met a stranger in her lifetime. She had a list of hobbies and her generosity went as far as giving rides; food; shelter; money; clothes; furniture; advice and anything else she could give to help others in their time of need. She had an amazing heart she was the type of individual who would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. Tanya would donate her car, keys and title to someone if they needed it more than her. Tanya had the eye for a great deal and was absolutely the best and finding them anywhere she went. One of her favorite quotes was “if it’s free it’s for me”! Although she loved free stuff, Tanya never utilized the items, she always gave them away! Everyone would agree they received a called telling about the deals she knew of and received. She loved pizza, cake, and talking on the phone. Tanya was most known for hanging up without saying “goodbye “! She adored spending time with her family especially her beautiful grandchildren, “Grandma Tanya” is what they all called her! No matter the trial or tribulations Tanya was experiencing, her heart was always with others when they needed it. Tanya was always an active relative, aunt, cousin and etc! Even though Tania was her only biological child. Tanya took pride in her relationship with her nieces, nephews and even her greats who also knew her as their “Grandma Tanya” too! Each and every one was more like her children also! She was the “Big Momma” of our family, truly caring for everyone! Her love was spread equally and genuinely. There was no such thing as a “favorite” in her eyes. And that is what made Tanya the remarkable woman she was. Her heart was bigger than this world if we had to compare it!

Loving memories are cherished by her only child , Tania(Antoine), Grandchildren: Karsynn “KC” ,Marquis “MC” , and Harper ; Father James; Mother Lynne; Uncle George; Aunt Jackie; Brother William; Sister Glynda; Nieces: Renee (Jeffri), Alexus, & Lynnetta, Nephews: Ronald; Rashawn; Raphael; William; Cameron; Jacob; Great Nieces: Jaela; Alisha; Roniyah; Tameiah; Rakeeya; Re’Onna; Aubrey; Taina; Great Nephews: Ma’Kye; Jordan; Cousins: Elysse; Sonya (Dexter); Tyes and; Sam; Tiffany; Troy; Tommy; Dorrian; Morgan; DJ , Noah, Tamaujah; Tamaui; Goddaughter: Ebony; Special Daughter: Rachel; Bonus Grandkids: Ty’Quan; Rylin; Rory & Bestfriend: Shawne. One thing for certain Tanya knew God, so she walked by faith and not by sight. Two things for sure that God didn’t play about Tanya smith. She was highly favored.
