Twila Yvonne Caslin

Twila Yvonne Caslin began her life journey on November 27, 1968.  She was born to Vickie L. McGowan and Michael (Muscle) Brown in Columbus, Ohio.  She is preceded in death by her mother Vickie, her father Michael, her grandmother, Shirley Mae Fincher Smith Peoples, and her grandfather, Robert (Honey) Smith.

Twila was married at the tender age of 16 years old to Gregory F. Caslin.  She was a Nursing Assistant and worked in the medical industry for over 20 years.  Twila had a special passion to help elderly people.  She loved music and dancing.  She enjoyed laughing and cooking.  In addition, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren.

Twila’s family was a great delight to her.  She will be greatly missed by her children, Shavelle Caslin, Xavier (Shaq) West, Velsha West and Tanyla West, her precious grandchildren, her siblings, Tahesha McGowan, Vincent McGowan, Tyra McGowan, Titus McGowan, Michael Freeman, Dezjuano Mack, and Demetrius Brown; her dear aunts, who helped nurture her through life, Rhonda Ann Smith Quinichett and Marla Kay Smith; her goddaughter Priscilla Coleman and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Twila was strong, courageous, intrepid and fearless.  She fought a good fight and now she has finished her course.  She passed away Friday, June 3, 2022.  So many precious memories of Twila will forever live in our hearts.  Her smile was impeccable and her laugh was contagious. Though we are saddened by her death, we celebrate her life.
