A TIME TO BE BORN - Tyris Allen Sowell made his spontaneous arrival on August 12, 1995, in Columbus, Ohio, to his beloved father, Ollie E. Sowell, Sr., and mother, Lori D. Burns. Tyris was the oldest twin, and he took pride in being a loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Tyris had an illustrious tattoo career as a content creator, businessman, and entrepreneur. Tyris most importantly valued his family, who truly love and adore him.
A TIME TO LIVE - Tyris was a graduate of Flex High School with his certificate of completion. He was also honored by the Columbus City Council with a certificate of honor for his completion of the program in its entirety. Tyris lived life boldly and creatively. His artistic talent set him apart; every tattoo he created told a story, and every client left his chair feeling seen and valued. Tyris poured his passion into his craft and into his new tattoo studio, which he opened in honor of his late twin brother. His work was more than art; it was a reflection of his soul’s passion and the legacy he built with his gifted hands. Tyris was also an amazing content creator whose creativity shone across social media. His TikTok videos reached thousands, gaining over 25.8K views, and showcased not only his artistic skill but also his sense of humor, personality, and love for life. Through his videos, he connected with people all over the world, spreading light, laughter, and inspiration. Tyris had a heart full of laughter and light. His smile could brighten any room, and his playful spirit made him who he was. He had a way of making everyone feel special, whether through a joke, a deep conversation, or simply his presence. A visionary thinker, Tyris spoke often about breaking generational curses and lifting his family out of poverty. His mind was full of ideas and dreams—not just for himself, but for a better future for everyone he loved.
A TIME TO LOVE - Tyris leaves behind a loving family who will forever carry his light. He was preceded in death by his late father, Ollie E. Sowell, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Pearl E. Sowell and Paul Smith; maternal grandparents, Janet and Benjamin Moore, Sr.; beloved twin brother, Tyron C. Sowell; and dear uncle, Jayson Moore. He is survived by his mother, Lori D. (Robert Burns); children, Lilliana and Malyx Tyris C Sowell; siblings, Kieanna, Barb, Ollie Jr., Jordan, Shameaca, and Arreana; and a host of bonus brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews, and all who love him.
A TIME TO TRANSITION - On October 7, 2025, Tyris’s earthly journey came to a close, but his spirit took flight into the arms of the Lord to join his twin brother, father, and all who went on to glory before him. Just as they were inseparable in life, they are now reunited in eternity.
