On October 18, 1935, in Sumter, South Carolina, Ulysses McCoy was sent as a gift to Mr. Albert and Mrs. Florence Reed McCoy. Ulysses was the second born out of six. Ulysses entered eternal rest on Monday, August 21, 2023.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Albert McCoy and Mrs. Florence Reed McCoy; brother, Roosevelt McCoy; sister, Easter McCoy-Evans; brother, Joe McCoy; sister, Delores McCoy-Johnson; brother, Alonzo “Yadah” McCoy, and daughter, Theresa McCoy.
Ulysses was an honorable-discharge Army veteran who loved fishing, football, basketball, and baseball, as long as it was Cleveland. Ulysses was an entrepreneur at heart, and he opened an autopro service shop in Warren, Ohio.
Ulysses leaves to cherish his memories: his sons, Alfred (Thelma Dansler) McCoy, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and Perry McCoy of Columbus, Georgia; daughter, Robin McCoy from Columbus, Ohio; 5 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
