Virginia Willis

Virginia Willis entered this life on April 18, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan, to her parents, Mr. Lonnie & Mrs. Alice Lawrence. She departed this life April 16, 2022, in Columbus, Ohio, at age 77.

Virginia was affectionately known as Jenny Friend, Jenny, and Nana to all those that knew her. At an early age, she became a Jehovah Witness. She attended North Western High School and PSI Institute of Virginia. She also worked at the Ohio State Fair, and later retired.  Virginia enjoyed shopping, cooking, and bowling, and she most certainly loved her family.

Virginia was preceded in death by her mother and father, Alice and Lonnie Lawrence; and husband, Claude Willis and Stepson Claudette Brown “Pumpkin.”

Virginia leaves to cherish her memory: children, Yvette Aigbekaen “Vet”, Colette Wofford “Coca”, Esley Willis, Eldon Willis, and Claude Sims “Cheese”; 23 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Martha Pye; and a host of nieces, nephews, loved ones, and friends.

Virginia will be forever missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her; to know her was to Love Her.
